Lyophilized Compounded Formulations for Patients with ED

Are you currently using Tri-Mix and tired of having to keep it refrigerated? Do you find you waste medication because you can’t use it up prior to the expiration date?

Tri-Mix-L (phentolamine papaverine and prostaglandin), a lyophilized compounded formulation, is provided in a sterile powder for injection in single doses that may last up to 6 months prior to reconstitution. Tri-Mix-L is delivered through an intracavernous injection directly into the penis and can be administered at your physician’s office or you can be trained to administer at home. The compounded preparation includes phentolamine, papaverine, and prostaglandin E1. Tri-Mix-L* is carefully compounded at an ImprimisRx pharmacy and tested for optimal potency and quality. It is compounded by a pharmacist pursuant to a prescription for an individually identified patient and may be customized. Our formulation is prepared in 10 single dose vials that allow you to store at room temperature and reconstitute when ready to use.

Once the formulation has been reconstituted for use, it should be used immediately. It is recommended to discard remaining contents after injection. Ask your doctor about Tri-Mix-L as a treatment for your ED.

Each Tri-Mix-L kit includes 10 single use vials, diluent for reconstitution and injection needles for each dose.

The lyophilized Tri-Mix provides:

  • Portability of the formulation stored at room temperature
  • Convenience of proper dosing in single dose vials
  • Improvement of patient experience

Tri-Mix-L* may be used up to 15 minutes prior to sexual intercourse. Physicians are able to provide patients with a convenient and portable way to manage erectile dysfunction (ED). According to the AUA, injections like Tri-Mix have been identified as the most effective non-surgical treatment for ED.6

Each single use dose is provided with diluent for reconstitution and injection needles for administration.

It’s extremely important to choose the right site of the penis for the injection. Intracavernous injections should be delivered directly into an area of the penis called the corpora cavernosa. If you imagine a clock from the center, you can identify an area that is either at 10 or 2 o’clock for an appropriate site of injection. You want to avoid any visible blood vessels.

Obtain instructions on dosage from your doctor before using any penile injections.
